Here is an example of the size of wetland required for a Hen House. At this location we were able to install 2 houses. The entrances are orientated away from the dominant north winds. We try to place them 3 feet or 1 meter away from the shore line.

We are also able to install the Hen House just after ice break-up. The stands come with telescopic poles that allow us to adjust the height depending on water levels.

The Key component for success is Farmer Relations. They are the true habitat resource in Alberta. Without their cooperation, none of this would be possible.
